After law school, Erin was honored to serve as Judicial Law Clerk to the Justices of the Massachusetts Superior Court, which allowed her to hone her legal research and writing skills. Attorney Nielson practiced for several years in small firms focused on family law and civil litigation prior to opening her own firm. Erin is a trained mediator and Guardian ad Litem, and she devoted six years to representing DCF involved families through the Committee for Public Counsel Services Children and Family Law program.
Erin practices in all areas of family law, including divorce, paternity, adoptions, guardianships of minors, modifications and contempts, drafts pre- and post-nuptial agreements, and is experienced in custody cases involving allegations of substance abuse, physical and sexual abuse. Erin also handles guardianships and conservatorships of adults.
Prior to attending law school, Attorney Nielson worked in the field of refugee resettlement, overseeing a staff of social workers providing services to refugee families from around the world. In addition to her J.D., Attorney Nielson holds a Master's Degree in Intercultural Management and Sustainable Development from the School for International Training. Attorney Nielson's history in social services has proved a beneficial background for her law practice.
